Keep selling those Raffle tickets! We will start collecting money and tickets this week.

All sold ticket stubs and money (along with unsold tickets) must be returned no later than Monday, May 7. Here are the collection times for this week:

Monday: LBA Board Meeting at 6:30pm in Library
Thursday: 3:15-3:45 after school in Band Room
Friday: 7:00pm at Visual Training Dismissal – Band Lot
Saturday: 8:30-9:00am at Visual Training Arrival – Band Lot

For every 25 raffle tickets sold, a student will receive a FREE MOVIE PASS TO CINEMARK! One winner of the “3,000 Shopping Spree Raffle” will receive a $1,000 Cash + $1,000 Amazon Gift Card + $1,000 Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass Gift Card in Simpsonville. Raffle tickets are $10 each. Each band member is asked to sell 25 raffle tickets. The drawing will be held on Sunday afternoon, May 13 at the Spring Concert in Beeler Auditorium. Questions or need more raffle tickets? Memory Book
The 2017-2018 Lafayette Band Memory Book is designed by photographer and band parent, Michelle Dunlap.  Each book includes 60 glossy, color pages of memories of the State Championship season from Band Camp to Papa John’s Stadium! Each Memory Book costs $25.

2017-2018 DVD
The 2017-2018 Lafayette Band DVD includes band performances and highlights from the entire year.  The DVD is being created by the LBA Media Crew and will include marching band contest performances as well as concert events for the year (please note due to copyright restrictions that State Finals is not included on this DVD). Each DVD costs $15.

Save $5 and buy both the Memory Book and DVD for $35.

Jazz and Percussion Announcements

 

Jazz concert May 18 7:00pm. Beeler auditorium. Both bands.

Percussion ensemble load in and dress rehearsal on Saturday, May 12 from 9-1.

Jazz Band plays at Henry Clay HS for Assessment on May 12 at 5:30.
Call time to meet at Henry Clay is 4:30.
Warm up at 5:00.
Clinic at 6:00.

2018-19 Band Auditions

 

Audition materials for the 2018-19 bands are available on the web site.

Woodwinds – Tuesday, April 24, 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Percussion – Wednesday, April 25, 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Brass – Thursday, April 26th, 4:00pm – 6:00pm

All students in the band this Fall must audition.  Auditions are for placement in one of three concert bands and for part selection in the marching band.

Jazz Band
Students must be in the Lafayette Band to participate in Jazz Band.  The audition will be the same day as your band audition.  The Rhythm Section auditions will be on Wednesday, April 25 unless a different time is arranged with Dr. Strange or Mr. Lewellen.

To-Do List from Your Chaperone Team

 

Now is the time to plan ahead and complete all your medical forms for the upcoming marching season.

1.       Complete the LBA Medical Authorization Form and mail it to the address on the bottom of the form. You must submit this form BEFORE band camp so we can properly treat your child if a medical condition arises. (If you have already turned in your form – Thank You!)

2.       Make an appointment with your child’s physician for a physical. Have the physician complete and sign a KHSAA Physical Form AND the LBA Over the Counter Medical Authorization Form if you so desire. These forms do NOT need to be completed and returned prior to band camp. You will need to bring in blank forms for the physician to complete and sign.

Payments may be made by cash, check, money order or credit card.  Checks and money orders should be made payable to “LBA” (please note student name) and mailed to:

Credit Card payments are accepted via Charms.  To log into your Charms account, go to www.charmsoffice.com, the school code is lhsband (case sensitive).

Early Discount – Family Payments
To receive your Early Payment Discount you must have your Family Payments paid in full by May 15, 2018.

It takes tremendous financial resources to keep The Pride of the Bluegrass at championship level on the field and in the concert hall.  We thank each family for adhering to their payment schedule.

If your student qualifies for the Free/Reduced Lunch Program, please supply a copy of the Notice of Approval received from the Child Nutrition Office.  LBA must receive this notification each year.

The Lafayette Band uses the “Remind” system to communicate important information to students and families.  The students have been encouraged to join the appropriate “remind” groups to receive updates, schedule changes, and reminders from the band directors.  Families are welcome to join.
