Help Needed for Science Fair Setup and Teardown

The LBA earns money from Kentucky American Water Company for setting-up and tearing down tables and chairs for the Science Fair.  The event will be at Frederick Douglass High School this year.  We will be setting-up on Friday, February 1st from 4:00pm to 9:00pm and tearing-down on Saturday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

This is a fundraiser to benefit the band, and the more people we have helping the better.  Come join us for on or both days.  For questions, please contact Tim Walden at lbatreas@gmail.com.

Band Bash 2019:  Save the Date and Silent Auction Donations

Mark your calendars for the evening of March 16th, 2019!  We are having our annual Band Bash, a fantastic evening of jazz bands and silent auction fun to benefit the Lafayette Band. This year’s theme is “True Colors”! It is a great opportunity to get a little dressed up (or show off your best 1980s outfit) and enjoy and evening out with other band families.  All parents, students, and friends are invited! Fabulous food will be served, and our own Jazz bands will be serenading us while we shop at our annual silent auction!

We are now looking for items for the silent auction.  If you have a business contact you think might be interested in donating an item for the auction, please contact Jennie Hayes at jennielhayes@gmail.com.  We can get them the necessary form to claim the donation on their taxes.  Do you have unused gift cards or certificates from Christmas?  We would gladly accept them for the auction!

The District Band audition results for Symphonic and Concert bands are attached.  Lafayette has 56 students in these two bands.

Lafayette also has 13 students accepted for the two district Jazz bands – attached.
