Everyone is Invited to the LBA Parent Meeting on Monday Night at 7:00pm

Please join us for the March LBA Parent Meeting at 7:00pm in the Lafayette Cafeteria.  This is a great way to be involved in your child’s band experience.  Meet parents of your student’s peers and find out what’s going on now and what lies ahead for the Lafayette Band.  LBA Parent meetings are open to current band families and families with incoming freshmen this fall.  Discover how you can use your time and talents to get involved.

Fundraising Committee

We can’t spell “FUNDRAISING” without “U“!

When you hear reports that the band needs to raise more money, do you find yourself thinking, “I know what they should do”? Do you want to see Lafayette Band continue its tradition of excellence? If you answered “yes” to these questions, we need you to join us as we work to build the fundraising committee. We will meet for a short time following the 7:00 LBA parent meeting on Monday, March 13th in the cafeteria. We hope to see “U” there!

Family Payments Matter for Every Student

As we begin planning for the 2017-18 band year, all LBA families need to understand that the family payments form the backbone of the band budget and all activities.  Fundraising and Bingo are important but they cannot replace the funds provided by the family payments.

< p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12pt; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal;">It is important that every family be responsible and meet its financial obligations.  The lack of family payments has resulted in difficult situations for our musical instructors – we are not able to make timely payments and several have left to find employment elsewhere.  This has a negative impact on the musical instruction provided by Lafayette and our students’ growth as musicians.

The unpaid expenses from this year will carry-forward into the budget for the 2017-18 year.  Family Payments matter!  For our students to have the best possible band and musical experience at Lafayette, families must meet their basic financial obligation.  If needed, please contact Mr. Smith at 859-396-3311 or chuck.smith@fayette.kyschools.us for a confidential conversation about a payment arrangement – he is more than willing to work with you and your circumstances.

Let’s finish this year strong – both musically and financially!

The Lafayette Band uses Charms, a web-based organizational software system to track student contact information, financial statements, email communication, and more.

To log into Charms, go to www.charmsoffice.com.  Click “Enter” on the top menu and click “Parents/Students/Members” on the dropdown list.  Login using the school code “lhsband” and enter your student ID/password.  If you need your student ID, please contact Liz Booth at lafayettebandaccounts@gmail.com. The student ID is assigned by Charms and is a combination of letters and numbers.

If your student has an outstanding balance, you will receive a monthly financial statement.  The monthly payments will be billed individually in the Fixed Payment ledger.  Amounts received that are less than the billed fixed payment amount will be temporarily stored in the Miscellaneous ledger.  When the amount in the Miscellaneous ledger is sufficient to pay a monthly payments, we can transfer the amount to the appropriate fixed payment.
