BAND MEMBERS — It is very important to check and double-check the items in your Red Bag prior to every performance! Make certain all required items are present, clean. This is important information to remember prior to every football game and competition!

Parents and Students — Carefully review these instructions:

·  Bring money for gloves if needed.  $8.00

·  Have your black dry fit shirt to wear under your uniform.

·  Wear long black socks – plain with no color on the heels or up the sides (It’s good just to keep an extra pair of socks in your bag)

·  Bring black shorts.

·  Bring black shoes.

·  Students must wear hair in a slicked bun OR if needed, make arrangements for a haircut!

·  DEODORANT – this is necessary!!

·  Wipes for your red bag

·  If there is a problem with your uniform, see a member of the uniform team.

·  We always appear in public dressed in full uniform unless Mr. Smith or Mr. Bishop have informed the students otherwise.

Have class – YOU are the “PRIDE OF THE BLUEGRASS”! Always support other performing groups! Refuse to say anything negative, no matter what might be said to you.

Medications for Ryle Contest

If your child needs to take prescription or over-the-counter medication that we do not already have physician’s signature for during the day on Saturday, you will need to complete and turn in the FCPS “Medication Authorization Form” found here:  https://www.fcps.net/cms/lib/KY01807169/Centricity/Domain/2295/meds_ok.pdf

On Saturday morning, turn in the completed form along with the medication needed for that day only in its original container to any chaperone at the blue building next to the practice field.

Please note that over-the-counter medications must be accompanied by a physician’s signature on the FCPS form noted above.  If a physician has already signed the LBA Medical Form then you do are not required to submit an additional form for OTC medications you initiated on the LBA Form.

If you have any questions you may contact Sherri McPherson (lafayettechaperone@gmail.com).

Senior Night

Senior Form

Lafayette Band Senior Night is Friday, September 20.  Students will be recognized before the football game for their contributions to the Lafayette Band.  Parents of seniors or juniors graduating early, please complete this form (Click Here) immediately to allow for event preparation and recognition of your student.

Parents of seniors will meet Carrie O’Connor outside the Springhill Drive entrance to the stadium promptly at 6:30pm on September 20th. Carrie will coordinate family check-in and will distribute numbers to each family as you arrive.  Please follow numerical order and find your place in line.

The Lafayette Band Association will pay admission for two guests per senior to remain for the football game and enjoy the half-time performance by the Lafayette Band.  Families will be directed by Carrie to enter the field where they will be joined by the senior students.  The announcements will begin at 7:00pm.  Each senior’s name will be announced, and they will be presented with a certificate.  After the entire group is recognized on the field, families will be escorted to the rear of the stadium for photographs.  We will be honoring many seniors, so please be on time for this special event.

Please contact Carrie with any questions Lbaevents1@gmail.com.  Thank you and Congratulations!
