Shannon Clark, Color Guard Instructor
Shannon Clark is a graduate of Lafayette High School. She performed with the Lafayette drum line her freshman and sophomore years, and with the Lafayette color guard her junior and senior years. Shannon has also performed with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle corps, the Crossmen Drum and Bugle corps, the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle corps, Chimeras Winterguard, and the Pride of Cincinnati Winterguard. Shannon has taught several high school color guards in the Kentucky area as well as the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps, Southwind Drum and Bugle corps, and Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. Shannon has a degree in elementary education and special education from the University of Kentucky and currently serves as a special education teacher with Fayette County Public Schools.
Julie Strange, Movement Coordinator
Originally from Indianapolis, IN, Julie Strange received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Kentucky. While working toward her degree, Julie worked on the color guard staff with the Lafayette Band program from 1999-2002, helping the band earn four KMEA State Marching Band Championships. Julie returned to Indianapolis in 2003 teaching elementary music and working on staff with the Lawrence Central High School Marching Band. As a member of the Lawrence Central staff, Julie worked with the color guard and band as choreographer and dance instructor. Julie worked with the LC team to earn several Bands of America Regional Championships as well as the title of Bands of America Grand National Champion in 2004.Julie has returned to Lexington with her husband and is now teaching elementary music at Northern Elementary School in Fayette County, where she looks forward to working with the Lafayette Band program again.
Dana Arnold, Color Guard Instructor
Dana Arnold has been teaching color guard in the Central Kentucky area for 10 years. 2005-2006 was her first season with the Lafayette Band. She attended Eastern Kentucky University and majored in Paralegal Studies. She is now a Program Coordinator for the Fayette County Bar Association. Her color guard teaching accomplishments include; 2002 KMEA AAA State Champion, five time KMEA State Finalist, Tri-State Circuit for the Pageantry Arts Gold Medalist 2003 and 2004, and Two Time Contest of Champions finalist and Kentucky Governor's Cup Winner.
