Movement 1 – Requiem (Tuba mirum and Sanctus) by Verdi
When we think of shadows, the dark, eerie, menacing images come to mind which haunt our childhood - Shadows lurking under the bed or on the other side of the closet door.
Movement 2 – Hungarian Dance from Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky
Luckily, Peter Pan was there to teach us that we can control our shadow, allowing us to coexist and play together using the light as our muse.
Movement 3 – Paganini Rhapsody, Variation 18 by Rachmaninoff
The shadows of the night often trick us into thinking something is there, but really is not. Or have we ever taken the time to embrace the beauty and romance of the shadows created by the moon?
Movement 4- Requiem (Dies Irae) by Verdi
When the sun rises again, the oppressive heat bearing down upon us delivers shadows that the soothing shade of the tree can save us from no longer. We wait in stillness, anxious, in fear, and in hopes that the moon's light will again comfort us through the cycle of the Shadows of Eternity.
