Food Crew News |
|
Join us! Lafayette has a large, talented, and hungry group of kids to feed! We feed them the last two weeks of band camp and at each competition. It takes a lot of helpers to make this happen. It is a lot of work, but also so much fun. We get to be around the kids, see them interact with one another, and make them happy with Food! The Food Crew feels strongly that FOOD IS LOVE. Serving the kids food is more than putting nutrition in the bodies. To us, it is a chance to serve others with loving intention with a goal of engaging with each kid and showing care for them as people. ” If you would like to join our team, you can email us at lbafoodcrew@gmail.com. Band Camp Lunches There are three weeks of band camp. For the first week of camp, students must bring their own lunch and are not allowed to leave campus. For the last two weeks of band camp, The Food Crew will offer another option to bringing lunch, students can order and purchase a lunch. There will be one vendor for each day with at least 2 options. On Mondays of we will offer food from Canes, Tuesday will be Columbia Steak House, Wednesday will be Moe’s and Thursday will be La Rosa. On Friday, lunch is pizza and is free to all students and staff. Students can order every day or just on the days that they want to. Cost per lunch is $7 and there is a hard deadline of July 22nd at Midnight. We will not be collecting cash for the lunches, but only credit cards and bank transfers. Please fill out the form on the link below to complete your order. Monday will be Cane’s Thank you! Treasurer’s Note |

Hey LBA! Just wanted to provide a quick budget update as band activities ramp up in what promises to be a busy but exciting marching season. Band Camp is fast approaching, and a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes this summer. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has already sent in financial contributions that have allowed us to keep ahead of all the major expenses that go into a new show design. That being said, we will need contributions from everyone associated in order to take this show on the road as planned. LBA is a volunteer-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. There are no “membership dues”, no student “fees”, no band “charges” or “billings”. It is the collective contributions from student families, alumni, community sponsorships and fundraisers that make it all possible. Support our Lafayette Band 2022-23 season by making a financial contribution along these guidelines:
Checks payable to: Make a payment online: Our 22-23 Band Contributions goal is $190,000 by September 30. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Thanks- |
Bingo Update |
|
Bingo Update – Thanks again for another great night of student support at Bingo! Our Percussion section had a couple of representatives and other band members picked up the slack! Thanks to everyone who volunteered! I’ve been pushing to hear from students who sell 1000+ pulltabs in a two-hour shift, and Dylan and Maddie both did it this week!! Congratulations!! Selling 1000 pulltabs raises at least $160 for the band, straight up—I’m not sure there’s another fundraiser that can turn just two hours of fun work into that much money! This week I’m in need of a few counter volunteers, and, of course, pulltab sellers! It’s TRUMPET week—and I’m absolutely expecting them to do a better job than the Percussion section. Grab a friend and join us to sell pulltabs! To volunteer, visit https://www.lafayetteband.org/bingo/ Dylan sold 1000+ pulltabs this week… Apparently Troy did not??
Matthew Beck | Clarinet Dad (Tom Beck) LBA Bingo is located at Jackpot Bingo (2319 Woodhill Drive). We host Bingo every Thursday (except holidays). Doors open to the public at 6pm, games start at 7pm. |
